Those of you watching Heston's Roman Feast on Channel 4 last week may have been hiding behind the sofa whilst he made brain custard. However, if you were not, you will have noticed him plucking some particularly beautiful organic rose petals from a bunch, before grinding them into a paste with fermented fish guts. YES! Those beautiful roses came from Rebecca Frere Flowers! Here they are, in the kitchen, after Heston had had his wicked way with them. He only seemed to want the pink petals, although the end result was a delightful shade of grey. And yes I did taste the brain custard. And no I don't want to talk about it...
